The lawsuit alleged that Monitor Clipper Partners LLC, a private equity firm, misappropriated confidential information via a consulting firm, Monitor Co. Group, which did research for Hallmark. This information guided Monitor's 2005 acquisition of a Hallmark competitor, Recycled Paper Greetings, Inc., according to court documents.
